Written by Curtis' Dad, Brad Davis, via a Facebook Post on the "Prayers for Curtis" page:
"As I’m writing this I am sitting next to my 8 year old son who is lying in a hospital bed fighting for his life and future. My life has been transformed over the last week and will never be the same. As we get tangled up in the day to day things of life we sometimes forget how important it is to be gracious and love one another. Over the past week my family has been shown so much love it’s overwhelming. Adrienne and I can not thank everyone enough for all the prayers and support. We read each and every post that you all have written. It’s truly amazing how this little boy named Curtis from New Iberia has brought so many people together. We don’t know what the future holds for us but what we do know is that Curtis has changed lives and will continue to. Please keep the prayers coming we need the encouragement." January 17, 2018
This fundraiser was created in honor of the beloved Curtis Davis. Curtis, an 8 year old second grader at St. Edward School in New Iberia, LA was involved in a one car accident with his grandfather, Charles Davis, on Saturday, January 13th on their way to Mississippi. Curtis was rushed to a hospital in Jackson, MS where they performed emergency brain surgery, at which point it was determined that Curtis suffered severe damage to the brain. At this point, almost a week later, Curtis is slowing coming out of a medically induced coma, and the extent of the damage is still unknown. Although there have been very promising signs, this is still going to be a long journey for Curtis, Mr. Charles and their entire family.
Your thoughts and most importantly your prayers are requested at this crucial time. But as we all know, these circumstances do not come without financial burden. Many of you have asked how they can give, and we wanted to provide an avenue for doing just that. These funds will go straight to the Davis family to help defer medical and travel costs while staying with Curtis in the hospital.
Monetary donations can be made out to "Davis Benefit Account" and dropped off at any Community First Bank location in the Acadiana area, as well as mailed to:

Here is a link that was also sent out to join us in prayer for Sweet Curtis. Also, the Prayer to the Rosa Mystica has played a vital part in Curtis' recovery, and we have posted a picture of the prayer card above. On behalf of the family, we can't thank you enough. No one deserves our support more than this amazing family!
